Blue Moon Ranch 3535 S. 1000 E. Woodland, Utah 84036 We encourage ranch visits by anyone who is interested in seeing the alpacas, or the wonderful fiber, yarn and end products they produce. If you are interested in the alpaca business, let us know that and we will schedule a little more time with you. We are a working ranch, and are here 7 days a week. We only ask that you call or email and let us know when you would like to visit rather than drop in. That way we can spend time enjoying a visit with you, and explain what it is like to be in the alpaca business, and answer all your questions. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather, (check forecast below) and plan on about an hour, or longer if you are interested in the business end of things. If you have lots of questions however, we have lots of answers so we can go on and on as long as you like! If the weather is really bad, we might ask to reschedule. We do have daily chores that need to be done, so we are currently scheduling only one visit per day, Saturdays often get scheduled weeks in advance. Let us know soon when you'd like to come. Email is checked frequently throughout the day, so that is really the best way to request a visit time linda@bluemoonranch.net Or you can call (435) 783-4428 and leave a message telling us when you'd like to come. ( I'm usually outside and the phone is inside) or you can try cell phone (801) 898-0145. Please fill out the ranch visit request form If you need to cancel or reschedule your visit we ask for 24 hours advance notice. thanks! We hope to see you soon! Sept 27, 2008 will be our next Open Farm Day! click here for information
We love dogs, but our alpacas do not, so we ask that you leave your dogs at home when you come to visit. Our livestock guardian dogs have a job to keep all other dogs out of the alpaca pastures and they take this job quite seriously. Frequently asked Question: "My kids saw the alpacas on TV and just want to come and pet them. Is this OK?" The truth is that most alpacas do not like to be petted. Some will stand still for it, most will not. We do not allow our younger visitors to chase the alpacas in order to touch them. We have created a safe environment for the alpacas here and we believe that the way to keep them healthy is to minimize stress. Thank you for understanding.
